Dentist Appointment

Chloe had a dentist appt this morning at 11:30.

Mike said: Her dentist appt went great. One spot he's worried about, but not enough to push for xrays, yet. Maybe in June. She was scared but rallied and had fun.

Loving Chloe

Mike: Chloe has been really loving lately. Constantly hugging and cuddling with Ditto and Lulu. I'm starting to think she's feeling more secure in her environment and feeling safe enough to express her emotions.

Awesomer?

Chloe: Dude! That's awesomer! Wait. Is awesomer a word?
Mike: Nope.
Chloe: Dude! That's more awesome!

Watching Babies

At the reptile zoo in Monroe. Chloe watched these baby tortoises for at least a half an hour. They're four months old and their shells are about three inches long.

New Carseat

Abby reminded me about 18 times to leave the booster seat for her this morning. When I forgot she made it in to a fun adventure and figured out a way to get Chloe to school anyway!! Nice one!

Special moments

Special moments on the chair with Chloe. Abby took these fun pictures.

She likes it!

Chloe has always shyed away from whipped cream. Until now. Nothing like sugar in a can to win a child over. :)

Drawings

Chloe drew a monster. She's been drawing and coloring a lot lately. This was her halloween self portrait.

How Abby and I met

Last night Chloe and Abby were playing and laughing together. Chloe asked Abby to tell her the story of how Abby and I met. So she went through the whole story of our first date and all the things we did. She asked for it over and over. After a bit, it was bedtime and chloe begged Abby to put her to bed and tell the story again instead of reading a bedtime book. It was super cute. After I left for work this morning, instead of asking Abby for cartoons as normal, she asked for the story again.

The Rule-Dizzle

From Mike: "Chloe has been taking some kid's cold medicine since she came here. Tonight she decided that she can administer it on her own. I said she could, but only with me watching. I said "it's the rule." She said, "it's the rule-dizzle for C-dizzle" "

Ouch!

From mike: She's my daughter. We made a spider web between the living room and the play room. It left a pretty big opening, but it still blocked the sides a little. I ran into it this morning. Not even a minute later she did the same.

Two Daddies

From Mike: She's been playing with her characters a lot lately and there's a new twist. Two daddies and a daughter. She's done two mommies, mommy and daddy, and even two mommies and a daddy. She's so sweet, I can barely stand it.

That's not a word!

The other day I was scolding Chloe and told her that "It would be nicer if..." and she said "mom, nicer isn't a word. You can say 'more nice'" My mom just told me about how they were driving and my mom said "Look Chloe! They're harvesting taters!" Chloe said... "They're harvesting POTATOES, grandma" That's my, very precise, little girl! :)

Wish

Chloe says to Mike: "I wish we were a family of fire breathing dragons so we could help people start their campfires."

Potatoe class at Hovander Homestead Park

I found online about an event at this park that would teach kids how to plant potatoes in garbabe cans.  Since we'd just recently planted our own garden, I thought it would be fun to go see this demonstration.  There was also a story time in the garden.  Just the two of us went and we had a great time exploring this new (to us) park.  As it turned out, we were the only ones to show up for the event and we got one on one potatoe lessons and story time.  It was great fun and Chloe was a ham!  \

Bellingham Pride 2010

We went to the Bellingham Pride Festival and Parade this summer with Shana, Andrew Keiani and Giada.  We all had a great time.  Keiani had a good dance along with one of the drag Queens.  She was an instant hit.  Chloe loved playing with her flag.  A nice woman had given one to Keiani and her during the day.  Chloe still keeps her flag in her room.  Later Shana told me a story about Keiani.  She had asked Keinai what the pride festival was about and Keiani said it was about everyone being able to love everyone.  Abby and I felt very supported and it was a good day.

Lots of time with Grandma!

Chloe loves her grandma!  They got to spend a lot of time together this summer!  My green hanging chair has been a mainstay on our back patio for most of the summer and they play on it all the time!

Photo Shoot!

Chloe occasionally gets some handed down clothes from a little girl  through someone at my work.  She loves getting bags full of surprise clothes that all fit her.  She likes to talk about how and when the other little girl wore the clothes.  When she gets handed down clothes are the only times I've seen her get excited about trying stuff on.  She likes to go through them and put them in piles of like clothing and then she always asks me if she can put on her favorite one and "wear it around for a while".
This happened the other day and we went outside.  It was beautiful light and she was totally on!  All her pretty pozes and the cute outfit made some awesome pictures that show just how beautiful and fun 5-year-old-Chloe is!
